April Highlights
The letters Gg and Oo
Today we learned about the letters "Gg and Oo". We learned the actions and the sounds of the letters plus we made crafts beginning with the letters. One of the games we played was "Under the Ocean" the children had to dive under the ocean (sheet), pull out one item and tell their friends if it lives in the ocean. They really enjoyed this game.

Maple Day
Today we learned about how we get maple syrup. We had a PowerPoint from Miss Amy's brother who makes maple syrup. The children learned how the trees are tapped and that we have to wait for the sap to flow into the pails. Then it showed how the sap gets boiled down until it is brown in color before it gets bottled. One of our moms who has fond memories of making maple taffy as a child, came in and boiled some maple syrup and then set up two stations outside with clean snow. Then she poured the maple in small strips over the snow and the children got to take their popsicle stick and roll up the taffy. Most of the children LOVED it! What a terrific day!

Today was all about Easter. Our math for the day was counting jelly beans to put in our baskets. We had Easter bunny hockey, toss the eggs in the grass, egg roll for points, toss the egg in the basket and puffy paint Easter bunnies!

Earth Day
Today we were supposed to go outside and clean up the Centre's yard but it was raining, so someone decided that they should litter in our hall. The kids were a bit shocked when they first seen the mess but then they really got in to cleaning it up!

Spring
Today we talked about signs of spring. The question of the day was, "Have you seen any signs of spring? If yes, what did you see?" They put their people next to the sign of Spring that they have seen. When we are finished we count to see which has the most, least, which one more boys/girls or the least boys/girls.
