November Highlights

Mr. Blueberry Gets a New Home!

We received funding for a new fish tank, fish and accessories.  The children helped setting up the tank for Mr. Blueberry.  They did everything from washing the rocks to adding the water.

Miss Amanda talks to the children about what we need to do to get the tank ready for Mr. Blueberry.

Here we are in the kitchen washing the rocks for the tank.

Here we are enjoying watching Mr. Blueberry exploring his new home.

Transportation

This week we are learning about different kinds of transportation.  We added the train table to our classroom for a few days; the children really enjoyed it.

Here we are colouring pictures of different vehicles for our bulletin board display.

 Remembrance Day

Roderick's dad Martin came in to talk to us today about why we remember the men and women who have served our country in the past wars.  He told us about how Canadian soldiers go into countries to help protect the people and train them to protect themselves.  He brought us pictures of Afghanistan where the Canadian soldiers were stationed.  See below...

Thanks for coming to talk to the children, Martin!

Teddy Bear Clinic

We are very fortunate to have a group of Nursing students doing their work practicum at the centre.  Today we had a "Teddy Bear Clinic"; the students weighed, measured, checked our ears and let us listen to our hearts beating.  They also taught us about different kinds of medicine and let us practice bandaging up some teddy bears!
